StackChan is a co-created, open-source AI desktop robot from M5Stack. Built around the ESP32-S3 CoreS3 controller, it combines a 2.0-inch 320x240 IPS display with an expressive animated face and a 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt head, so it can look at you, nod, and follow the direction of your voice. Dual far-field microphones pick up what you say, the 1W speaker answers out loud, and the onboard 9-axis IMU, real-time clock, NFC reader and 0.3MP camera give you plenty of ways to build interactions.

Two kits are available. StackChan is the standard kit, and StackChan-R adds the joystick remote controller and a protective carrying case. Both run on USB-C power and include the StackChanBase with two TTL servos and a 550mAh battery. Because the firmware and 3D files are open source, you can flash your own applications, connect ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, or print new shells and add-ons for your desk.
